They say everyone has a book in them.

Not necessarily, say I, but everyone probably has a website in them and I'm no exception.

My name is Roger and my wife is called Helen. We've been married for 39 years and lived all our lives in various places in the United Kingdom.

We're retired now and have been living in Chiang Mai, Thailand for the past six years.

I've done a few things in my life. I've played guitar in a rock band in the 50's and 60's and I've been a driving instructor in Central London. Helen and I have a super daughter and son-in-law called Nikki and Rik respectively and we have two terrific grandsons, Alex and Matthew.

I've worked as a director of a national company and as a management consultant. I've toured the country conducting defensive driving seminars and I've been a sports promoter. I've lectured on I.T. at a North Wales college and I've sold insurance for Allied Dunbar. I've also driven National Express coaches between Bournemouth and London as a sort of pre-retirement job.

Helen has been a "lady what lunches" for most of that time, besides being a full-time carer for a couple of years, but she's a superb cook and she keeps me overweight and happy.

This site is the result of our enthusiasm for the city in which we have retired and the country where we now live.

We hope you enjoy the site and keep coming back for more. Our new e-zine, "Chiang Mai News and Recipes" is available on subscription and we hope you'll tell us if you have any suggestions or comments about the site.
